DAN BERMAN
Dan is a veteran Senior Executive, C-Suite Officer, Entrepreneur, Consultant, Thought Leader, Academic Educator, and Board Member with significant success in healthcare, biotech, life science, higher education, and e-learning. Leveraging extensive experience in strategic planning and business development, he is a valuable asset for startup to midcap similar-sector companies looking for revenue diversity, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), and change management. His broad areas of expertise include leadership; healthcare management and consulting; healthcare information, economics, legislation, and policy; EHR; EMR; business analysis, strategy, planning, and development; board relations and development; process improvement; and risk management.
Dan has been a longtime executive healthcare thought leader, consultant, strategist, and university-level educator. In his executive career, Dan has held leadership positions as an independent consultant, and at Center for Health Practitioner Innovations; Healthcare Innovation Institute (Founder/Chief Strategy Officer); Rosalind Franklin School of Health Sciences and Medicine; Walden University; St. Joseph’s University; Lake Erie Osteopathic Medical School; and Wilkes University.
In separate consulting and senior executive scenarios, Dan is currently developing a comprehensive case management program for workers’ compensation carriers, reducing the length of time on claims from an average of five years to two years. He founded the Healthcare Innovation Institute, a business incubator for healthcare business and technological ideas. Dan developed and implemented an award-winning parent health education program for Region III Health and Human Services; a referral network for a prestigious substance abuse treatment center in North America; and an award-winning program to merge mental health and physical health. Dan founded and developed a large ambulatory practice from $0 net revenue to $6M net revenue in just 3 years. He is also the author of The Dynamic Balance, a national healthcare reorganization strategy.
He has been successful in program development to boost business revenue for hospitals, specialty hospitals, long term care, pharmacy services, ambulatory health, correctional healthcare, behavioral health, home health and managed care. Dan is trained as a Master Level Clinician and has a keen understanding of healthcare delivery and clinical innovation. With a Doctorate in Business he also understands the need for academic study in business and healthcare – and teaches and consults on program development in healthcare administrative studies at the graduate level, with a sure grasp of e-learning, distance education, executive education, and adult training.
Dan earned a B.S. in Therapeutic Recreation from University of Massachusetts; an M.S. in Nursing Administration from St. Joseph’s College of Maine; and a Doctorate of Business in Healthcare Administration and Management from Northcentral University. He has continued professional development with completed professional certifications, including as a Certified Professional Coach from World Coaching Institute; and a Graduate Certificate in Healthcare Risk Management from University of Florida.
