Theresa Cheng, M.D., Ph.D. is a self-employed Neurosurgeon in private practice. She provides patient care in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. She s currently serving as the Chairperson of the Department and Director of Center of Oshkosh. Dr. Cheng started an endowment fund for medical missionaries for neurosurgery in 2006 called the “Dr. Therese M. Cheng Endowment for Medical Missionary Work and Medical Excellence and Compassion. Previously, Dr. Cheng services as a partner to the Department Chair of Neurosurgery at Luther Midelfort Mayo Health System from 1995 to 2002. She then served as the Chairman and Founder of the Department of Neurology for Affinity Health Systems during the period 2002 to 2009.

During that time, she also served as the Director of Medical Operations at Afinity Health Systems from 2005 to 2007. At Affinity Health System, Dr. Cheng developed a new neurosurgical program within a multi-specialty group practice in a growing suburban community. The practice became an excellent, state-of-the-art, highly compassionate proram, drawing patients from all over the country to tackle some of the most complex brain and spinal cord lesions. It was rated #1 in Spine Surgery by Health Grades, two years in a row, in 2007 and 2008. Dr. Cheng earned a Ph.D. in 1987 Neurosciences and Molecular Genetics, and obtained an M.D. in 1989, both from the Medical College of Wisconsin. She completed her Neurological Surgery Residency at Mayo Graduate School of Medicine in 1995 and completed a Special Fellowship in Neurosurgery at the Mayo Clinic in 1999. She is a Facilitator and Certified to teach the course “The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People.” Dr. Cheng is a candidate for an M.B.A from Johns Hopkins University. Dr. Cheng has been recognized as a Professional of the Years and a Woman of Excellence for 2016 for her outstanding contributions and achievements for over 30 years in the field of healthcare.
